On January 17, 2012, Governor Christie signed S.1988/A.3646 into law, which phases out the Cosmetic Medical Procedures Gross Receipts Tax over three years.
It reduces the 6% tax rate currently imposed on the gross receipts from cosmetic medical procedures to 4% for the period from July 1, 2012 to July 1, 2013; 2% for the period from July 1, 2013 until July 1, 2014; after which the tax is effectively eliminated.
